Abass features, Ropapa unused sub in Islanders’ win
Left back Abass Mohammed completed his second game in the USL for the Harrisburg City Islanders in their 1-0 win over New York RedBull II on Wednesday.
Abass lasted the entire duration and his side grabbed their first win of the season against the 2016 USL champions at the RedBull Arena.
The energetic defender made several interceptions during the game and was booked in the 25th for a tackle he made, his incursions scared off his markers.
Ropapa Mensah also had his first call up to the Islanders team as he made the 18-man squad for the match but was an unused sub.
Manolo Sanchez scored the match winner in the 62nd minute after he rounded the goalkeeper from a defensive blunder.
