Ropapa scores again, Opoku handed 1st start, Abass features in Islanders draw
Inter Allies trio of Abass Mohammed, Fredrick Opoku Yamoah and Ropapa Mensah all started for City Islanders for the first time in their 1-1 stalemate against Charlotte Independence in the USL.
Ropapa who’s in some fine form scored his second consecutive goal for the Islanders in his only third start for the in form side and was also named the fans’ MVP after the game.
He held off his marker and flicked a pass wide to John Grosh before making his move to meet a great floated cross by Grosh to head home in first half added time.
Abass who was also having a fantastic game got a slight knock on the 43rd minute and was substituted to make his injury worse, he was replaced by John Grosh.
Fredrick Opoku Yamoah who had come off the bench in some of the games had his first start of the season. He featured for 69 minutes and was replaced by M. Olla.
