Prosper Kasim scores and powers Birmingham Legion to victory over West Chester
Birmingham Legion defeated West Chester United SC 4-1 in its U.S. Open Cup Second Round matchup on Wednesday night at BBVA Compass Field.
Chandler Hoffman and Femi Hollinger-Janzen got the first goals for the home team in the first half, leading them to a comfortable lead.
Proper Kassim then got a goal of his own in the 51st minute after Legion FC controlled the pace of play throughout the match, holding on to 61.4% of possession.
He lasted 65 minutes of the game and was substituted by Daniel Johnson.
West Chester fought hard and grabbed a goal themselves in the 61’ minute off the boot of forward Charles Wilson after an errant back pass from Legion FC.
Following their 3-0 win over Reading United AC, Louisville City FC will be Legion FC’s opponent in the Third Round of the Open Cup.
