Prosper Kasim praises Legion’s fans after win over New York Red Bull II:
Prosper Kasim heaped praise on the club’s home support, after fans ‘fueled’ their strength to a 2-1 win over New York Red Bull II. on a cold Wednesday evening.
Kasim lasted the entire duration of the game where they had to fight through with a man down and an own goal to survive the scare at the BBVA Field.
The former Ghana U20 star man revealed after the game that the chants from the fans spurred the players on and praised the team spirit for fighting to the death.
“I think the atmosphere was great. We love the fans and love when they come here in numbers,” Kasim said after the game as captured by Birmingham Legion’s website.
“I think that also motivated us to keep pushing, even when we were tired. You hear them screaming and yelling, which is the feeling we want all the time. I think their support is awesome.”
After his game-winning goal, Kasim helped propel Legion FC that much closer to a postseason birth in this inaugural season, and he believes the group can go far.
When asked about the potential for making the playoffs, he said, “well I think we still believe in each other, and we keep working because we know who we are as a team.”
“No matter what, working hard pays off in the game. We keep pushing no matter what, and I think that helped us tonight.”
