CLUB CAREER
Evans Mensah (born 9 February 1998) is a Ghanaian footballer who plays as a winger for Ceramica Cleopatra in Egypt..
Born in Agona Swedru and raised in Ghana, Evans Mensah joined Right to Dream Academy after being scouted as a prodigious talent at an academy event.
He joined Inter Allies FC in 2014/15 season and spent 2 seasons before moving to Europe after the 2015/16 season in the Ghana Premier League.
Mensah was loaned to HJK in Finland after a successful medical analysis, making his Veikkausliiga debut for HJK in 3–2 loss to Inter Turku, coming on as substitute in the 90th minute, on 16 September 2016 and signed a permanent contract afterwards.
He spent a long time with the Finnish giants from 2016 to 2019 where he got the opportunity to play in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League qualifiers.
At the end of his time in Finland, he won two league titles and two runner-ups, he won one league cup and was runner up twice..
During the 2020/21 Season he switched to Al Kharitiyath in Qatar before he joined Ceramica Cleopatra in Egypt for the 2021/22 season.
International career
Called up to the Ghana national football team as a replacement for David Accam, who was injured, Mensah made his international debut against Mozambique in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Evans Mensah was rewarded with a place in the 2019 Africa U23 Cup of Nations (Afcon) Best XI for his good showing at the tournament.
He was one of the Black Meteors’ best performers in a tournament which ended in a fourth-place finish after a penalty shoot-out defeat to South Africa in the third-place play-off.
He was the only Ghanaian in the coveted line-up.
