Tromsø defender Vince Osuji has taken a significant step in his international career after earning his first senior call-up to the Nigeria national team, the Super Eagles.
Osuji received a late invitation to the Super Eagles camp ahead of Nigeria’s international friendly against Russia at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium on October 6, 2026.
The former Nigeria U-17 international made his senior debut during the encounter, coming on in the 83rd minute as Nigeria played out an entertaining 3–3 draw with Russia.
The call-up marks another important milestone in Osuji’s development and gives the young centre-back valuable experience alongside Nigeria’s senior internationals under head coach Éric Chelle and his coaching staff.
Having already represented Nigeria at youth level, Osuji’s transition to the senior team represents a promising step forward as he continues to establish himself at the highest level.
